Beehives and Honey April 5th at 10am
Let’s gather in the Lower 9th Ward to meet a real beekeeper and learn about our precious honeybees.
We’ll begin outdoors, where we’ll learn about the role bees play in pollination and how their work provides us with food. Next, we will walk around to observe the hives and the different types of fruit and citrus trees in the Capstone Orchard. At the end, we’ll have a Q&A and there will be an opportunity to buy fresh Capstone Raw Honey. This trip has a 20 kid max. It’s geared toward ages 7-11. Younger siblings are welcome, if supervised by a parent. The trip should last around 1.5 hours. Cost is $5 per child, non-refundable.
