See the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in a daytime setting. They offer a wide variety of musical selections each season and often, during these rehearsals (for upcoming concerts), the conductor and guest artists will speak with the audience about the concert preparation. It's really cool.

Please note this is still very much a professional performance and it's important to NOT talk during it.

Rehearsals begin at 10:00 am, so please plan to arrive no later than 9:45 am. If you show up at 10am, they likely won't allow you inside. Tickets are $6 for students and teachers (aka parents here =). Secure the $6 rate when you pay upon arrival by telling them you're with Homeschooling Heroes. No need to pay in advance (anymore ;) nor RSVP - just show up!See the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in a daytime setting. Ages: All ages welcome, but not toddlers, as there is no talking and getting up to go to the bathroom and such (and if you must, you won't be able to come back in until there's an intermission). If your child is 5+ and interested in orchestra or you'd like to expose him/her to something wonderful, join us! Just be ready to pop out quickly, if need be.

Also, your children must be seated with/near you, not far away with friends.

Timing: Open rehearsals are scheduled to run 2.5 hours, from 10am-12:30pm and have a scheduled break between 11am and 11:30am depending on the flow of the program. It's okay to only attend the first hour and discreetly leave the theater at 11, or at the rehearsal break.
