This is part of our Creative Writing: Finding Your Voice series, where kids were encouraged to free write and let whatever snippets/scenarios come alive on the page.

by Taylor and someone else

Margaret sat in her living room, sobbing. She couldn't believe what had happened.

She had been sobbing for days actually. Ever since she didn't get one-hundred likes on her newest picture she posted "on the gram" (Instagram). She had only gotten ninety likes. Everyone at school would know, now that Jane is more popular than Margaret. After all, Jane had gotten one-hundred and one likes. Margaret couldn't this.

She felt outraged at Jane. "She's uglier than me!" she thought. She decided she would leave the country and change her name, it was the only option. Margaret was never seen again.
