Homeschool Grad Dispels Socialization Myth

I love to read a good story about homeschooled kids who have graduated successfully and are well-rounded. It encourages me in my journey to homeschool my own child. It also gives me something to point to when people try to challenge my choice. The story of Noah Kutz is nothing short of awesome and inspiring to homeschool kids and parents alike, which is why I wanted to share it. ​

Noah is a student at Arizona State University on a full-ride scholarship and is a valued employee for a local bakery. He is as well-rounded as they come.

During his high school years, he was homeschooled via co-op first in Maryland, then in Arizona. He participated in multiple varsity sports with local schools, played piano and guitar, served in student government with his co-op, volunteered for service programs, and ran his own business.

In the article, Noah breaks down the misperceptions of homeschooling while acknowledging the potential positives of public education.  He admits that some homeschooled kids do turn out odd or sheltered  (to the extreme, abused), but then so do kids in public school. 

It’s clear he's a very intelligent young man with a bright future and he makes a great case for hacking your high school experience by homeschooling. Way to go Noah!
