David Pilkey is the illustrator and author of the famous children literature book series “Captain Underpants.” Dav was born to David Pilkey Sr. and Barbara in Cleveland, Ohio. He and his older sister Cindy attended an elementary school in North Ridgeville, OH. Unfortunately, Pikey struggled with ADHD and dyslexia. Homeschooling became essential to his his education.

​Shaun White is an American snowboarder and skateboarder with an on-field name “Flying Tomato.” He has won three Olympic gold medals, several Winter and Summer X games awards. In 2018, Shaun White became the first snowboarder to win three Olympic Gold Medals.

Justin Timberlake, the pop sensation that all of us are familiar with attended an elementary school situated in his hometown in Tennessee. He was homeschooled after he finished the fifth grade. He got lucky and got a break when he appeared on Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club. Other members of this "club" were the likes of Britney Spears and Ryan Gosling.

Maria Yuryevna Sharapova, nicknamed as the “Screaming Cinderella” and “Siberian Siren” by the press, is a famous professional tennis player who was born in Russia. She began playing professional tennis in her teenage years and in spite of the fact that she sustained several sports injuries during her career, she has won many titles and retained her position as one of the best tennis players ever. Guess what? She was homeschooled!

Kevin Systrom is the co-founder of one of the most used social media platforms: Instagram. Kevin was just an ordinary kid interested in gaming and that lead him to develop several levels of the game “Doom 2”. He developed his interests in technology at an early age and started programming as a student. 

Kevin was born in Holliston, Massachusetts. He started studying at the Middlesex School in Concord and learned the basics of several programming languages. His parents Douglas Systrom and Diane supported his interests and let him pursue his dream of a tech enthusiast. His homeschooling would begin.
