Homeschooling
Scott was homeschooled in Connecticut from the start. He developed an interest in sci-fiction at an early age and decided to pursue his goals as a storyteller. He graduated from high school when he was seventeen and then went to Thailand. There as a student missionary for three months, he started writing a sci-fi story and worked on the “Seven Book Fantasy” series. Later, he kept writing stories, novels, and sci-fi for the sake of his passion towards the impossible.

“I was homeschooled through high school and my parents fed my love of reading. At one point I averaged at least twenty books read per month.”
-- Scott Appleton

Before becoming a sci-fi author, Scott was much into reading extensive books during high school. Aside from sci-fi, he often read astronomy and history related writings. In an interview, Scott named “Joan of Arc” by Mark Twain and “Pilgrim’s Progress” by John Bunyan as his two favorite books of all time. He is a big fan of the “Star Wars” novels and “Thrawn Trilogy” by Timothy Zahn.
