The next Einstein. This is what 7-year-old Romanieo Golphin, Jr. had been called. This young man is deemed to be genius level smart. Romanieo is young, a genius, and he is homeschooled. He has never been in a public school setting before but frequently learns about things that most kids in school probably aren’t even aware of.

Homeschooling
Romanieo’s parents, his father a music advisor at the University of North Carolina and his mother is a personality psychologist and research director for an educational consulting firm. Both felt the public school system was failing and decided to teach him instead. By doing so, this affords their son the opportunity to learn things not only on his own terms but in the most creative ways possible to ensure he is actively engaged and enjoys the process of learning.

Accomplishments
Among the ways in which Romanieo learns is through trips to local museums and art galleries. Here, his dad will quiz him and teach him different techniques, skills, and artist. His passion is science, and he was even granted the opportunity to visit the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland. He has also been invited to NASA as well. All before the age of 10!

Currently
While Romanieo has genius capabilities, he does still enjoy being a kid. There’s no doubt he will go on to create and do amazing things, but for now, he enjoys doing the same things other kids his age do.

Though the process has not been the easiest or cheapest option for his parents’, their decision stands. As exceptional as he is, homeschooling has done nothing but further encourage and contribute to developing love and desire for learning. This is something that can be cultivated for any child under the proper circumstances.

Encouragement
Every child may not be a complete genius in science, but there are so many other things that can be considered. Cultivating the environment necessary to enjoy learning can go a long way in encouraging children to become who they desire to be and learn all they can possibly learn.

While public school has some great aspects, there are still individuals who come from a homeschooling background who are not anti-social and have the ability to become creators and innovators as the next generation grows.
